Ha and a water level with rising water. Thanks. The rising water is kind of fun because it promotes a fast paced gun battle. I can jump into the map, stockpile all the weapons by throwing out the KM_SM and play 10-30 fast paced rounds. I think most people discourage these kind of maps because of the optimizing issues and they are not considered "competitive". I have not tried this on a big server yet so I'm not sure if what I did for optimizing was enough or not. I could probably squeeze out a few extra fps here and there if need be. It would be fun to try this with gungame or the halo mod. I imagine mass chaos would ensue.
Hello, this is a map I started quite a long time ago and finally finished. Figured I'd post it here because I asked a number of questions about it back in the day. I've had some pretty random and interesting conversations from dumb fucks who try to scam me on CL. I sell stuff on there and nothing makes me madder then the lazy Nigerian, Russian, etc... fucks who try to pull their dumb shit. What baffles me the most is some dumb sap has to fall for this shit cause they wouldn't be doing it otherwise. There's only one redeeming aspect. If you get them mad, damn they get pissed.
1. why did u black a path out?

2. if u read the end of the path it says counter-str.
maybe tht has something to do with it.

so u compile the map and u set vhe to open counter strike when it was done correct? I have a better way if ur interested.
Heres how to do it. you have to fine tune it though. make a block and tie it to func_water. then name it water and(or whtever) set the render mode to "texture - some light" if u want it to b transparent. set fx amount to however much transparency u need. go to yaw and click the down arrow and change it to "up". delay it for at least .2 secs. go to "lip" and change it to 1 for now (just to make sure it works). set contents to water (or lava ha). and the wave height can be changed if u want waves. then make another box and tie it to func_button (or some sort of a trigger). set the target to "water" (or whtever u named it). thts about it, if u want the button to go into the wall change the lip to 5 or whtever suits u and then test your map to make sure it works. it should rise and then fall. u can make it rise and stay there by changing the reset attribute in func_water to -1.
ya i went 2 wally world w/ a few of my friends and bout 2 secs after we got there a bunch of walmart officers surrounded us and started followin us round the store so......my lesson to all is dont throw those license plate card things at the ceiling. and definitely dont do it more than once like me. it was prrty funny though cause the cards hit the ceiling and cameras. but it was especially funny when they hit the ceilin cause it sounded like machine gun bullets. plus the day be4 we were taken those big kush things and thrown them round and knockin down signs, merchandise and anything else in the way. thrown boots is another one of our fav past times. any1 else hav sum crazy store stories or ect......

yeah i know that. what i meant was their is something wrong with the game_player_equip entity when it's turned off the map doesn't f up but as soon as i turn it back on it shuts the map down at the start of the 2nd round

update: i found out what was causing it however i don't know how to fix it. it was the game_player_equip when i put a check on the use only box in the flags no one has weapons and the game doesn't shut down but as soon as i put it back on it does it again. i tried deleting it and making a new one but it just does the same thing. is their something like the name or some other thing that i'm forgeting to do?

yeah after 1 of the teams are eliminated and the 2nd round is suppose to start it just shuts down and their isn't an error message or nothin that pops up

ecah time i play the my map after 1 round it just shuts down. why is it doing this and how do i fix it.
another thing u can do hit the entity key and make a cycler_sprite or cycler entity (can't remeber which). then open up the properties and chose a tree model out of the model folder in the cs folder. or u can choose a custom model that u made or there may be one in the halflife model folder too.
i checked and the only thing i did was make them fall into the water instead of their feet being in the water already just in case that was the problem. i think however it may have some to do with either my player_equip entity or i put the buy zones outside so that they could buy anything. another thing i thought of is i put the player equip entities inside of them so maybe they have to be outside of the body. do u have to put a special texture on the buy zone blocks like aatrig or clip or something?
thankx it stopped saying that message but now my map just shutdowns i can spectate but as soon as i try to join and or add bots or both it shutsdown no error message or anything
okay i'll try that after school.
every time i compile my map and try to play it it shutsdown and says this "Missing frame 0 of -2rosewood

i was wondering is their som eway to trigger after so much time a change in the water level like rise of lower? I'm making a level that's flooded and i got this idea for it. i wasn't sure if it was possible however

man the cs 1.6 flashlight sucks and the source one is like the halo flashlight. is there anyway to get a source like flashlight into cs 1.6? The cs 1.6 flashlight only lights textures (stupid) and not models. this makes it hard to watch zombies because your forced to point the flashlight at the ground (so you can see them) and then you can't shoot them. zombie mod would be easier to play if it was more like the source flashlight. so any help because i know you can get the source models and the guns for cs 1.6, but what about the flashlight?
Update: i think i just figured it out. I searched sound in the forums so I'm going to try it tonight and see what happens.

hi just a quick question. when i run the dedicated server (srcds) how do i know if it's online. it didn't work because the map i chose to run on it wasn't running. is there anything special that i need to get source to start a game in the server?
yeah i've treid that but i also forgot to mention that i'm trying to use a custom wave (song in the map) but it doesn't work. it's a wave+it's under 3 minutes but it doesn't work. the path is correct according to most tutorial. one said that you can't use the full path or something like that. it said that the name of the song should be the only thing you should see in the properties, but i've tried it this was too and it don't work.

Okay now I'm asking the BIG questions. How do u get sound into your maps. It never works. I made the song a wave and I made sure it was under EDIT:3 minutes. Plus I added it to the ambience folder and the sound folder in the cstrike directory. Any Help?

everytime i go to compile my hotel map it says that their is somethong wrong with the rotating door. It says something about at least one origin brush must be visable . How do i fix this.

hey i was just wondering why css shutdown when i try to play italy. Its all black, then it shutsdown, and then it says something about a internal thing.... i'm can't remeber exactly what it said but you should get the idea.

what do you use to make css maps and whats the newest version?
i have a question about how to make see through glass the rest (breakable/unbreakable) i know how to do. i know your supposed to use wally but when i do the texture gets messed up or nothing is changed. the other thing is i make a breakable wall but i want to make it stronger use the stronger thing in the properties but it still is destroyed in two shots

but it's kind of hard to tell some how to install something when they don't have the same version. and jrkookid you probably don't know what were even talking about because when i asked if u knew anything u just left. by the way i know how install metamod that childs play, but finding a zombie mod that works for 1.6 is a lot easier said than done. if i had a version that worked then i already figured out that other crap u told me. i installed gun game and super hero and..... but the zombie one doesn't work so i was just seeing if anyone had a good idea. but no one knows where to even download it for cs 1.6.

well all you have to is make a block. make it so it isn't very thick then press shift+a then click on the side you want the message or wht ever on and then find the texture you want and click apply. then if it isn't facing the right way just rotate it until it is

ps if you want to make a sign like a stop sign you have to use a differrent type of object, but if it's a bill board then i just explained that.

i don't really care to much about compiling it with hammer. i've been working on many maps and i have 4-5 maps that need to be compiled, but something isn't working. another thing is today i tried to compile maps on 3 different computers and everytime I got the same problem. is it a virus or something. any ideas on why this is happening. i can understand one computer not having enough ram but 3 and last year it compiled perfectly. the only weird thing is over the summer the program shut down weird once and then it never worked right again. i've tried redownloading it but it doesn't work.
if the comiler screen is turned off then how do you turn it back on and how do you turn up the ram. My laptop used to be able to run it and my home computer could to but now they don't. i've tried using the zoners compiler tools,but they say something about a missing log

Every time i go to compile the thing fucks up. I click F9 to compile and as soon as I do the whole fucking program just shuts down and that's all that happens. Plus another thing I almost forgot to mention was that I can't export it as .map and the other things that you can export the map as. The compile screen doesn't even appear. Can anyone help Me?
