Thanks for the info about max view distance.

The reason it looks like it makes no sense is the map is mostly inside the house and the shipping containers are fix for the gameplay. I was trying to make the map compile faster by taking the part behind the fence out. Guess I'll put back the grass with the trees.

But thanks again.

I was hoping for some command line fix. But thanks anyways...

Not sure what i will do now. This "bug" is in 2 places in the map maby I'll try to block the view with some large item. Recked car or something.

I got few problems with my map.

Visual bug in the small windows if I move to far away.

And one classic I think I got the solution for but not sure if it's the best one. So how would you guys tackle problem like this?

Thanks for your time, I have almost finished fixing the bugs in this map.
User
Thanks man, I was so sure I had the right files.

Now I can finally finish this map...
User
I had all my files backed up so that's not the problem. It's that somehow I set hammer up the wrong way so I can't select models only sprites...
User
I was so unlucky that my hard drive crashed but thank god I had made backup of the map I was making.

So I got new hard drive and installed Hammer again (3.5.1) and when I open up the old map everything is like it should be except the models. Only pink boxes and when I go to cycler_sprite it only says "Sprite" instead of "sprite/models".

What am I doing wrong?

Tools-->Options-->"Build programs" and make sure the four paths for the tools(CSG, vis, rad, bsp) points to the correct .exe-file.

And when you're about to compile the map, make sure that in the compile settings all the four tools are set to "Normal"

Again thanks you are a lifesaver!
User
Thanks it worked to go from advanced mode and just put normal to them all.
It started compiling and I will see if it compiled successfully after about an hour.

Why is hlbsp running first? hlcsg should run first, then hlbsp, hlvis and lastly hlrad.

how do I change that?
I am compiling from hammer.

No idea why it looks like this but i put them all in the same directory that I created.

** Executing...
** Command: C:\DOCUME~1\Beggi\MYDOCU~1\Mapping\hlrad.exe
** Parameters: "c:\documents and settings\beggi\my documents\mapping\holtavegurtest"

Now they are in the same folder but that didn't change anything.
(I had always had it the other way so I'm surprised that that should be a problem)
User
I have tried to change the filename, change the location of the file nothing has changed. My guess is that I must have changed some settings by accident and have no idea how to change it back.

I have compiled this map so many times and errors don't come for no reason.
User
Hi I have been working on my map for a while at the last compiling I got the error "The system cannot find the file specified.".

I think this has something to do with hammer I must have f*cked some settings up or something.

I have tried making new map in hammer and I got the same error (empty room with a spawn only with halflife.wad)

I'm hoping I am doing some idiotic easy fixable mistake although I did not find the fix from google.
