Hey i need some help with soemthing
i put some models like cars into my map and i want to make them solid. i tried putting clip texutred blocks but that makes the map unable to be compiled

i made blocks with normal casual texutres and made the fx thing 0 or even 1 but nothing worked. Can anyone help me on making the blocks invisible?

My compile thing says that all my brushes are clip/origin which theyre not. can someone help me on this?

The model shows up when your inside the game but in valve it shows up as a purple box only

you just need to make the aaatrigger func_ladder and a ladder texture as a button_target. put the aaatrugger a tiny bit in front of the ladder texture

you dont need three parts for the ladder though
you just need the aaatrigger and the ladder texture

you mean like put a model into the map?
you use cycler_sprite and in the properties you put in the model directory

your brushes are probably near or outside the end of the grid

the carving tool is kinda ok, but it makes whatever you carve break into different parts and sometimes, the exposed parts from carving are blank white so you have to retexture them... still i use it when i have to

you can make breakable glass stronger by making the strength higher

bullets arent supposed to go through two walls unless its a scout or an awp
only rifle bullets and deagle bullets go through walls

actually i got ambient_generic to work..but your info is all correct to work.
Make sure that its a .wav file b/c i remember trying to use a sound until i found out it was an .mp3 (my winamp reads .mp3s and .wavs) or maybe its inside the ground..
i dont think you can hear something underground

ive had that problem before. its most likely a problem with yor textures like it says in the compile log.

i just put another block below the floor. and i made some holes in the ceiling so you can see the sky... I'm not sure which helped me, but im thnking its the block below the floor

hi i put some cycler_sprites in a room in my map and i put 2 lights in the room, however, all the models on the floor are black(because of no light) and everything on the tables have okay light. I put the 2 lights in near the middle of the room.

so if i want to make a car model seem solid, how can i make a block the shape of a car? and how can i make the block so people cant see it? like its invisible or something

do i have to make a car look like a car before i make it as a prefab?? or can it just be a normal block?

AND how do you make somthing a prefab?? all i can see it the prefabg libraries...

hmm i tried that, but when i go in my map i dont hear anything and in my console it says, "Error, failed to transmit file 'sounds/evil'"
i tried with just the name 'evil' in the ambient_generic properties, but i still get an error...and the sound is only like 1minute long

i put an ambient_generic in my map, but i want to know what the settings should be for the entity. Like the fade in time and the presets. ALSO the directory of the sound. I made the directory just "evil", and i tried sounds/evil, but none fo them work... can anyone help me with this? I tried going into my map, but i dont hear anyhting.. explaining from the start might help

its really complicated from what i read xD.

and you can take a screenshot and use wally to make your own texutres. But i tried making my own and you cant get really big textures. Theyll be pretty small so i just decided to use the texutres i have or dl them

um im not sure, but i use the clipping tool to cut things. click the object first with the selection tool, then click the clipping tool(shift+x). then draw a line from one side of your block to another. When youre done press enter.

I think there might be other ways... but this is how i do

ok again, instead, i want to make a car that you can DRIVE around. Anyone know how to make some? and if i have to make it out of brushes is it really hard??

i need to put some cars in my map, but i dont think i have any good models. Does anyone know where i can download some car models?

no theres no problem with the map, it compiles smoothly with no errors.. except when i compile it tells me a warning about the fact that im using more than 8 wad files, but other maps have had that warning with no problems. and yes, i did re-texture, BUT i used different textures than the first time.

i made a map,compiled it and loaded it properly. The next time i loaded up my map in valve hammer all the blocks and eveyrthing were white textures. (i deleted the wads because i put them into a different folder, but i re-added them) then i compiled my map again. (i used different textures than before) When i was loading my map it gets stuck at starting local server or whatever its called and doesnt go anywhere from that. Im thinkking its a texture problem, but im not sure because i played several of my maps before with no problem.
does anyone know any solutions?

yeah but sometimes renaming just changes the name not the file, so you can just click "save as" on the .txt file and choose all file types and rename it as .bat

how do u put music in the map? do u use ambient_generic? i put the wav file in cstrike/sounds/ambient but when i try to load the map it gets stuck at "verifying resources" is there something im doing wrong?
