i put an ambient_generic in my map, but i want to know what the settings should be for the entity. Like the fade in time and the presets. ALSO the directory of the sound. I made the directory just "evil", and i tried sounds/evil, but none fo them work... can anyone help me with this? I tried going into my map, but i dont hear anyhting.. explaining from the start might help

1) The sound file you are using has to be less the 3 minutes long, in WAV format.
2) Place your WAV in the "...\cstrike\sound\ambience" folder.

In the ambient_genering entity, enter the exact filepath (with the right CAPS and all!)

That's about it, I think.

Just don't enter the full path in the ambient_generic, you have to use relative paths with the sound-folder as the starting point.

E.g. if you have a sound in: ...cstrike/sound/snore.wav
then the filepath to the sound in the ambient_generic should say: snore.wav

If the sound-file is in: ...cstrike/sound/ambience/snore.wav
then the filepath to the sound in the ambient_generic should say: ambience/snore.wav

etc.

hmm i tried that, but when i go in my map i dont hear anything and in my console it says, "Error, failed to transmit file 'sounds/evil'"
i tried with just the name 'evil' in the ambient_generic properties, but i still get an error...and the sound is only like 1minute long
