This song was following me around yesterday. First I listened to the whole album that it's on, then they played this song on KUGS a couple times, and then it was playing at Dakota Art when I went there after work. Sooo good. It's been a long time, long time now, since I've seen your smiiiiiiiile...
Idk what it was about this song, but it made me feel depressed. Which is weird, cuz it sounds like a pretty happy song.
I think maybe it was the trumpet... idk.
I think the lyrics/vocal style have a hand in the depressofactor as well. Beirut has the same skill as Belle & Sebastian: catchy songs with depressing content.
