So I'm not very new to mapping, but its been around 5 months since I had last made a map before I took a long break. I made a door as I think I remember it is done and it opens with success. The only problem is, it won't open again. Any suggestions?

Did you use func_door_rotating or func_door?
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

So, to clarify, you use your door once (by standing next to it and pressing your use button) and it opens. Then after four seconds it closes and if you try to use it again, it doesn't open. Correct?

Yes, I could even supply a demo of what happens if needed.

Doors are sometimes harder to 'use' from the other side because the floor area in which you have to stand to open the door is smaller and therefore harder to find. I hope this helps.

Uploading your .bsp does not help. The decompile process will distort your map exponentially. Please upload your .map file, or .rmf.
...then I got some ap, and shot a big ass lazar at everyone.
