Hey, I'm compiling my map, it's a surf map. No leaks, check, spawn for terrorist and CT, check, light, check, I'm not sure what's wrong. Here's the log.

Right, if you make sure that all the entities you have are really properly inside the map, this seems to be the most common cause of the error. Also (and this is a fairly obvious one) make sure that it's the .map you're trying to compile (as I said, these are the only bits I can find on it.) Googling got some results as did a search of these forums.

Properly- Not touching a wall and definitely not inside one.
May contain traces of invisible text.

Chances are your ct and t spawns are touching the ground. Just lift them off a tiny bit.

Nothings touching a wall, and everything is inside. It's the .map I'm compiling. Still not working though. Any more ideas?

I abandoned that map, made a new test map, it made the prt file, everything worked, but at the end of the bat, it said, "unable to find the file specified". I ignored that, pressed a key, it opened counterstrike, but didn't load the map. What happened there?

Make sure that you have all the paths right to the various files in the bat file; it could be that there's a small spelling mistake stopping it from finding it.

yeah once i had to wait 8 hours till i found out that i missed a line in the batch file , its strange what problems a little letter can do

strange fact : the first map that people make tend to not work ,

like for eg: ME i made my first map helped by supers and it complied but once it was in the game it got a hl error and crashed , so i made the exact same map with a different name and pow it worked just fine ... still don't know what was with that first one
