Free CS 1.6 Server?

Hi, Im making a clan and decided that I need a server for scrims n stuff like that. Since server hosting or whatever requires you to pay money, I dont want to do that, so is there any other way to have my own server?

You could just set one up on a home computer, maybe one that you just leave on all the time. If you jump high enough you'll hurt your ankles when you land.

Well I only have one computer, and I leave it on most of the time and its my home one. So how can I do this?

Steam -> Tools tab -> HL Dedicated Server -> should be more obvious from there, maybe. What's your upload rate? Everyone stares when you walk in the room, they stare when you go....

I tried doing the dedicated server and when I run it says: Couldn't allocate dedicated server IP port 27015

Does Verizon Playlinc still let you create a temporary dedicated server for matches and stuff for free? If so, you should use that.

The correct answer is to pay for a server.

Unless you have business-class or Fiber at home, your at-home server is going to have shitty ping.

If you really have a clan, get everyone in it to share the cost. It only comes out to a couple of $ a month for each person in a clan.

If you really want to spend hours and hours setting up a shitty, broken, slow, at-home server, then go ahead. But don't say I didn't warn you!

You probably want a location that is close to you, for instance London would be good for me as it is only about 700 miles away. However if you are in America or whatever the 5000 + mile distance wouldn't be that great for you. Everyone stares when you walk in the room, they stare when you go....

Hey armen115 i know what your problume is with hosting a cs server. it took me two weeks to figure it out what i had to do is go into my router and port forward/ port trigger three different ports. now i dont remember what they were just google it God I Suck At This.
