how to add your map to steam

thanks for the help Edan, and SRAW.

ive got every thing done with my map but I dont know how to add it to steam do i need to download a dedicated server from steam tools and then put it in there or not also when i test my map it says error on info_player start in the command menu from steam.

I mean it compiles the map and it works fine i just get that error message for info player start in the command menu

Did you put the .bat right...that might be the problem.
For example

>Thenameofyourmap<.bat

Then right click it and click edit.
then make sure you do this right
I have my steam folder in my D:\ drive so...yeah.

now why in hells name did you add the " < " >" . that will just mix the poor kid up...

and this mite be a dumb question .. but do you HAVE info_player_starts in your map ? Wtf is that ? its a bird ! no its a plane ! amm maybe its a plastic bag . NO ! its SUPERJER ! the greatest super hero ever!

thanks i fixed it i forgot to add an entity to the map.

it took me a few minutes to find the problem but i got.

Im a noob at hammer and i need help?? i make a map...not a good one but just a box that fits 2 people and has no leaks i cheked. but i have no idea how or what to do after making it so that i can put it on counter strike

You need to compile your map. Read the tutorial @ www.superjer.com/learn May contain traces of invisible text.

the url u said dose not work. is there any thing else i can do? if it helps and matters i only have counter strike 1.6 (not source), and counter strike:condition zero,so if it matters with the game tell me plz.
