I guess that would make sense. Army guys I've seen have been polite and friendly to the point of it being conspicuous. They must beat the hate out of people somehow...
There was a whole platoon, maybe even a company, of army guys going up Mount Si on Tuesday. I beat them to the top like it weren't nuthin' by like 10 minutes and they weren't all mad about it or anything, even though they were super competitive with each other. In fact, I haven't been called 'sir' that much in my entire life.

People join the army either because they suck at everything else or because they want to pile up money. You have no expenses when you're in the military so even with low pay you kinda rake in the cash.

1 the money
2 the travel

being payed roughly 1,600 bimonthly is a great deal.
edit: then there's Hazard pay for army and a whole lot of other things (free housing, no tax, blablablabla)

Lolwat... To get that amount of pay you'd have to be like an e7 with 10 years of service...
Sprinkles is probably making about 1600-1700 a month (800-850 bimonthly). Which really isn't that much... not even $20k a year.
But, like it's been pointed out, you do get to keep most of that money, cuz there's not really any expenses you have to pay. And also, if he ends up getting shipped out, he'll get war-pay, which afaik is considerably more.

Dunno about other countries but here you gotta do your military service once you're 18.That being said you can get 3 or more years of postponement if you gotta go to college and such stuff.

No, I get paid $614 biweekly. $1200ish a month.
But soon I will be getting more for h8 certified. :P
