But updates have always been free on iPods... What kind have you got? Normally all you need to do is plug it into your computer while iTunes is running. Everyone stares when you walk in the room, they stare when you go....

Maybe I should update mine... I've got a 5th gen 80gb that doesn't work for shit. Same thing with it not turning off, I usually have to try like 5 times to get it to turn off. Then it also rarely plays videos, most of the time if you try to play one it just freezes. And to think I paid $400 for this POS...

The way I get it to turn off is to put it on hold for a second or two. Then it works, generally. I'm amazed that mine still works, it was narrowly saved from being washed once! Even the battery is mostly all good :) Everyone stares when you walk in the room, they stare when you go....

Because iMacs are awesomes.

But if iPod updates really cost moneys, I'll completely lose faith in apple. Also for not giving a fuck about Flash. How can they advertise their handheld shizz with saying "experience the interwebs like awesomely crazy" without allowing god damn Flashplayer to run on their devices? And they don't plan to do so for ever!

At the time it was one of very few that did videos. It's a decent size and I could get it at a competitive price. I don't like Apple products mainly but I also don't really like flash. Everyone stares when you walk in the room, they stare when you go....

Well Apple are even bigger wankshafts than I'd thought. And yes, at the time, I got it for a good price. You don't even know how I got it! Plus it's lasted four years - admittedly I have taken very good care of it but I know many people whose music players have lasted a rather less time.
