This is the first "map" I've made, it's only a box.

You have a solid box in the middle of everything. Delete that and create two walls so you got a hollow box.

But I got another question;
How do I add items?
Because I'm trying to make my school as a map, and for that I will need chairs and tables and stuff like that.

Where do I get them?

Select the brush tool and then look at the right-bottom side of the screen. There should be two small bars, one saying Category and one Object or something like that. I think chairs and tables are under the category 'Primitives'.
Or you can make them out of brushes yourself. Or you can also download them as models and then use an I think cycler entity to import your model into the map.

P.S. If your school is big, you may have to forget about this as the engine does not allow large maps. I'm currently working on a three-floor building of small-medium size and I'm not really sure it will work once it's done.

But I've started on creating the map without any items, and after 45 min I wanted to check if it works so far. So I made some walls but it says it has a leak :S
I can't find it. Could someone help me please?

I think it would be better to try and learn how to find it yourself:

First of all, make sure you haven't placed an entity outside the map as this will also cause the leak-error. If you sure that is not the case, load the pointfile("Map" ---> "Load pointfile") and load the .lin-file with the same name as your map. Start from the outside and follow the line and see where it goes inside the map, that is probably where your leak is.

Oh and I believe you need Hammer 3.5 for this pointfile thing to work.

Well, I found the leak but now I got this hlvis: Error: Portal file 'mapname.prt' does not exist, cannot vis the map error again :S

Make sure you didn't turn your map into a giant brush again.

Do you have any entities in the map? Make sure you haven't created a solid box over everything like you did before. And make sure no entities are outside the map.

I don't know what you mean by that.
I have ct, terrorist and light.
Could you download the map that's on my recent post and check it out?

And I thought it has to be a box because in the tutorial it said it has to hold water or beer if we turned the map upside down. :S

Because I did and can't get the problem fixed.
I'm new at this, and hoped anyone could help me find the problem...

But after I did some changes to my map and tried again, it doesn't seem to finish compiling. It stops and no map is created. But it doesn't give a .err file neither.
