The problem with that is that it's too dependent on environment. Pistons are all good and fine when we're dealing with grassy plains and forests, but that's been more of a rarity lately as storm chasing has grown more popular in arid climates. There's too much grit in the storms there, dust devils really, and there's only so much you can do with sealants and proper lubrication.
Besides, I think we're still working around international laws on that one. The last time I tried out rocket golems, a tribunal took up the case to decide whether they should be classified for use in construction or military applications. I don't think I ever even heard back from them.
