Nowhere on the tf2 purchase place does it say for a week, and if it was for a week, it would show up on the library as free weekend or something (or you're probably just pissed that you payed for a game that is for free HA )
I thought I read "Team Fortress 2 going free for a week!". Now that I actually checked it up it actually seems to be completely free.Exept micro-transactions in the Man Company Store...
I'm not pissed about TF2 being free, except maybe that the good servers will be full constantly. I don't mind that I have payed money for TF2 since I both think that Valve deserves my money for it and I still have had access to playing the game 2-3 years (don't remember when I bought it) before this.

Remember that time when you could buy HL for a tenner, and that gave you CS, TFC, DOD, RICOCHET (my room mate actually has this installed, desktop icon and everything...nice to see you again, Y2K), HL:DM, and a warm fuzzy?
When HL2 came out I got the 'Silver' package. Info from NeoSeeker:
Quote:
SILVER -- $59.95
Half-Life 2*
Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 1: Source*
Day of Defeat: Source*
Valve's back catalog currently available on Steam
*To be made available upon products' release.
These days, you can buy less for $40 or more for $100, although the Orange Box is still a killer deal at $20. HL2 from Steam

Being a TF fan I find TF2 a rude and offensive intrusion into the TF gaming pool. I might have liked it if they just called it something appropriate and didn't COMPLETELY fuck up the player pool for other TF games. All other TF games became unplayable to average players because of TF2. I hate it with a fiery passion.
