How can I change the welcome message @ CS 1.6, in Valve Hammer Editor.

The message when you are going to choose "Terrorist" or "CT".

Place a TXT file named mapname.txt in the cstrike/maps folder. Write whatever you want in it.

no edan, it isnt it

the only way to do it is create a .res file

in it put in the first line

titles.txt

and edit YOUR titles.txt in the first line, u can change the name it shows

but they cant change it back unless there smart enough and they need to disable vgui menus

i uploaded my .txt and .bsp fild to my server.. and my bro downloaded the map and the .txt and it worked...

i didnt use a .res

I think you could..not too sure
But I use steam so I'm not sure how to do it non-steam..
But maybe googling on how to do it might help. Or you could wait for eDan, Down Rodeo, Killer Duck, SRAW to reply again.

I don't see how your usage of Steam or not would affect the display of the message.

if you want the text to appear before you literally enter the map ( the credits on the side ) then just do what edan said ..
make a mapname.txt and write in it whatever you want in your map
place it in your cstrike/maps folder and it i'll be fine
