Are 4 socket one-handed swords/shields hard to get? Because I've been thinking of trying to earn FG with countess runs and then making the Spirit runeword (the runes required are all low-level runes). ...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

Pinot Grigiot is a good shout for myself. When I was very young (and my parents let me taste wine) I liked white. When I was older I liked only red but now I've swung back to a crisp white.

nah dude, 4os swords are easy to find off of running the cow level. If you still can't find one look for an unsocketed broadsword and add sockets via the larzuk quest reward. Make sure that it drops off a decent level monster or you won't get all four sockets. The amount of sockets added depends on the item level so don't use a vendor bought one or something.

Unless your a pally the only 4os shield available is the monarch shield.

Also consider doing the shenk quest as you get ral, ort, and tal runes as rewards.

Actually you get those from rescuing the prisoners in Frigid Highlands but yeah, I've done it on all difficulties with my pally. I'll do them with the sorc as well when I get to lvl 80-85.
I haven't really been in the cow level on nightmare or hell yet. Ever. So are the drops any better and how hard is it on hell? ...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

Not true, the Aegis and Ward have 4 sockets too, they just have a higher strength requirement. They're also heavier so they make you run slower, especially the Aegis. That is... if shield weight affects you like armor weight, I really have no idea.

You will NOT, however, be able to sell anything but a Spirit Monarch or Pally shield. The Aegis and Ward work just as well if you have the strength for it, though.

By the way, a 4os monarch on it's own is worth 5 fg. A superior one being worth even more... whereas a Spirit Monarch with anything but perfect fcr is worth less. So, unless you roll a really good one, you're actually just losing money. A perfect one is worth thousands of fg though... so, you know... you could get lucky!

True and true, I just get those quests confused because they use the same WP. And like aaronjer said, the monarch is the only option thats worth choosing if your not a pally.

If you're going to use it yourself and you already have the strength and can teleport an Aegis or Ward is actually better. Higher defense and block rate, and if you're teleporting run speed is meaningless anyway.

It's actually supposed to be Jordan's Stone, but they poorly translated it from the Japanese. It's an extremely rare item, but if you find it and give it to Jordan when you meet him in the sixth act, he'll give you a class-specific super unique item set, five free skill points, and enough experience to make you gain three levels.
